University of Chicago Admission Requirements 2016-2017
Requirements for PhD admission 2015-16 can vary. To apply for Chicago University PhD programs, students must meet the following requirements:
- Apply to the common application of the university of UC web application. Printed applications are not accepted.
- Pay 50 dollars nonrefundable fee waiver or application fee
- University transcripts or official college transcripts must be submitted via email
- The preference will be given to students who pursue first degree.
- For international applicants, they need to meet transfer requirements and to provide evidence of their financial certifications and English competency. For first year students with international coursework, they will be assessed and settle 30 dollars international credential evaluation fee.

2016-2017 Application Deadlines
Students’ application fee, online application, academic credential and other materials must be received by the program by the deadline. Deadlines may be change and it is your duty to check for changes. Materials and applications received after deadlines will not be considered.
Students must use general graduate guidelines of their chosen program study. They need to check for programs with earlier deadline or term restriction section to know what they must need to do.
Many programs have earlier deadline that general graduate college deadline. There are also programs that have earlier priority deadlines for students who are looking for funding.
Many programs will only admit students in specific terms. Be sure to consult the programs with earlier deadlines section to determine the specific deadline of your program.
International applicants must follow general graduate deadline unless your chosen program is listed in programs with earlier deadlines.
Note: There are strict deadlines for all materials.
For graduate domestic degree seeking applicants, which include domestic applicant and readmission, the start of opening for spring 2017 is November 1, 2016. For summer 2017, the start is on March 15, 2017 and for Fall 2017, the start is on May 15, 2017.
International applicants, which include IBHE international applicant and all visa types, the start of enrollment for Spring 2017, is July 15, 2016. For Summer 2016, it is on December 15, 2016 and for Fall 2017, it would be on February 15, 2017.
Classes begin on January 12, 2016 and the first session will start on May 18, 2017. The second sessions tarts on June 15, 2017.
